Room n°6 at Hotel de Marle

Palmgrens & Beckmans College of Design

The Hôtel de Marle at Institut Suédois hosts Sweden-based researchers, writers and artists during their residencies and aim to provide them a piece of home in Paris. The six rooms have been reinvented by forward-thinking brands and designers, providing Hôtel de Marle with six interpretations of a ''hem'' within the frameworks of a 16th century building.

In collaboration with Beckmans College of Design, we have provided accessories designed to provide both inspiration and organisation during the guest's stay. Palmgrens classic boxes, hangers, paper bin and trays have been blind embossed with a pattern designed by Carl Cavallius, graduated Beckmans College of Design student. The collection is sewn in vegetable tanned calf leather, in undyed and grey, both with a contrasting white stitching.

The six rooms will be accessible during guided tours at from September 8th to October 13th 2019.  The projects and thoughts behind the renewal will be presented in one of Institut Suédois' exhibition spaces.
